I am in YW right now and we are having a combined activity (Feb 17th) with the YM on dating. My topic to teach the youth is "dating ideas." I have a few good ones, but I wanted to get as many ideas as possible.
For example: Going to dinner and then to an outdoor concert at a park is a fun idea.
I'm looking for as many ideas as possible, so feel free to list or go in to detail of as many as you want.

Kory dated a lot in college and when I asked him how he afforded it....He said.....I would cook them dinner and then watch a movie after OR cook for them and then take it to a park. He was all about cheap dates while going to school. Hope that helps! I miss you!
Don't bother asking our husbands, because we both know they have no clue!!!
When I was in high school a couple fun dates I went on were:
visit the capital
minor league baseball games
group date capture the flag
but always with a dinner!!! or even just a dessert/ice cream somewhere!
What a fun activity. Things that Justin and I did like hiking, fishing, and cook-outs on the BBQ. But I guess some girls may not like that sort of thing. Do a date night potluck and each couple has to make a dish and then take it to a park or some one's home and meet up with other couples for a dinner of the things they've all made.
We used to go to different festivals--Scottish festival, Irish festival, German festival.
You can't avoid YWs can you?
I always liked playing board games, going to the driving range, local parks, or going out for ice cream.
In summertime, my friends and I always loved taking dates "ice-blocking". You each buy a big block of ice, then go to the top of a hill, and "sled" down. So fun! Good memories. It was always our favorite, fun, go-to date.
Sporting events, comedy club, frisbee golf, rock climbing, camping, playing cards...those were some dates Lane & I went on. I also think scavenger hunt dates or choose your own adventure dates would be fun. Those would take lots of planning.
I guess I have a few ideas.
-You could go to the dollar store and buy a cheap kite and go fly a kite in the park.
-For a group date you could all go to the store and each couple has $2 to buy dessert items (such as ice cream, toppings, etc), but you can't tell anyone else what you're buying, so it's a surprise. Then you have mix everything together and eat whatever it makes (although you don't have to)
-I did one once where we went to a park (or you could do an elementary school field on the weekend) and played games, such as croquet and bocci ball. They are fun and easy to set up. That would go great with a BBQ.
Let us know! I would love to see date ideas:)
I definitely think they should be inexpensive because these boys should be saving for their missions! Plus, I had a long term boyfriend back in the day and thinking about how much money we spent on each other makes me sick! Anyway...
A drive in is always SO fun, and a great group date.
Bowling (although it sounds lame and cliche) is always so fun.
I loved it when the guy would cook and then we would just play a board game.
One of my most fun dates was to Speed zone which is just bumper cars and video games and stuff.
But honestly, creativity goes a LONG way. Even a free date can be the best date if a lot of thought and creativity goes into it. good luck!!
k, so my hubby is a BORING date night planner. Movie and dinner, every time! I on the other hand would like to do some more creative dates. SO I have done some research on fun date ideas (in Salt Lake) here is what I have come up with...
1. Swing dancing
2. Western dancing
3. Pottery class
4. Baseball game
5. Hiking
6. Musical/Play
7. Dodge ball (we have a place called airzone, or something like that with trampolines everywhere, I think this would be a fun group date)
8. Rock climbing (indoor or outdoor)
hope those help!
