Fathers Day and Guns

For this fathers day my dad and I went to a defensive hand gun course out side of Las Vegas. It was something that my dad had wanted to do for a while and we finally got the chance to do it. All in all we had a great time. We learned a ton about how to safely manipulate and shoot our 9mm handguns.
Here is us getting ready to start shooting.
This is dad learning to clear a type 2 malfunction.
This is a sun spider that climbed into a guys gun bag. He was real feisty.
Another great sunset.

Fathers Day and Guns

Great sunsets pretty much every night.
Pretty desert landscape.
Love the different types of cacti out here.
Shooters in action.
In between all of the ranges there were these huge sand berms to keep the shooters safe.

Fathers Day and Guns

This is their ropes and repelling course.
Me and my pops, doing a little hydrating.
Here is one of 40 ranges that they have classes on out there.
Entrance to the site.
A pit stop in vegas. I love the animal style.

Boulder River Camping Trip

We decided to go camping and on a hike this weekend before Jaymie cant do anymore outdoor stuff. We decided on Boulder River because it had the shortest elevation gain of the ones that we were considering. In total it was about a nine mile round trip hike. We took lots of water and food breaks so she wouldnt get too tired. This was one of the best views on the trail.
Us in front of the twin falls
Our campsite was perfect. It had a great fire pit, a place to put the tent and a river running right behind our tent. There was also no other people near us so we didnt have to worry about the snoring of an annoying neighbor.
We did tons of things at the camp like roasting hot dogs, of course eating smores and relaxing by the river. We started our day by hiking at about 1130 and ending at 330. It was long but fun. Then we found a campsite and set everything up by 500 pm. After eating our dogs and smores by 600 we had nothing else to do. So we talked for the next 4 hours because it doesnt get dark till 1000 here in the northwest during the summer. That was really nice! A fitting end to a great day.
This is the lovely river that was right behind our campsite.

Boulder River Camping Trip

Here is me on a rock out in the middle of the river, Jaymie said that this looks like a senior picture. haha
Some would say that Jaymie's belly is getting bigger, but I just dont see it. She looks tiny next to this tree.
Boulder River is glacier fed.
One of the waterfalls. There were 2 different ones that we saw.

An end of an era

I had to say goodbye to my old friend on monday. It has been a great 11 years and 140,000 miles with her. The most important thing is that she never had any major problems. I almost cried.
When one era ends another starts. We opted for the Ford Edge. Its got plenty of size and comfort for us, and a great price to boot. Its a new ride for our soon to come baby.

Its a Boy!!!

We just got back from Jaymies sonogram where we found out the sex of our baby. We both are really excited for the news. Here is the profile picture.
This is a scary but cool face of our little one.
This is where we got down to the nitty gritty details. It was pretty easy to tell this is a BOY!
And just to make sure we got a different view of his third leg. HAHA. Now its off to pick a name for the little guy.
