Doctor's Visit (an adventure)

I finally had my first doctor's appointment in Philly. I had one scheduled 2 weeks ago, but our insurance was messed up, so I had to reschedule. Anyway, the baby and I are both doing well! His heart beat is perfect at 150 and I am 2 cm dilated. From what I've been told, you can be 2 or 3 cm dilated for a couple weeks before labor starts, so really this just means I am on my way. There was one problem. My blood pressure was too high the first time they measured it. My PA agreed with me that it was due to my stressful morning. I am still unfamiliar with most of Philly, so I use the GPS all the time. I accidentally typed in the wrong security code when I turned on the GPS, so it locked up. I turned it off and back on and that didn't work, so I Mapquested the route. I was half way to my doctor's office when I realized Mapquest was taking me on a toll road (I hate that about the northeast). Justin took the last of my cash, so I turned away from the toll booths and headed back toward the previous exit. I pulled over and texted Justin about how to fix the GPS. Once he responded, I was on my way (or so I thought). Now about 5 minutes from the office, one of the roads was closed. The GPS took me on a long detour, but I finally made it to the office (only 5 minutes late). Thankfully, my blood pressure was back to normal by the end of the appointment.

O boy, you are getting close!!! I was about as far along as you are now when I had Ashton. I was dilated early, and then started leaking. It could be any time now! Sorry about the stressful driving experience... I hate driving places I am not familiar with, and I have never been good at using a GPS!

I can't believe you are 37 weeks! You are still so tiny:) That's exciting... I think I lost your blog address somewhere along the way, so I haven't checked up on you guys in a bit. You guys move all over the place, it looks like fun. That's neat that you got to visit Laura and Donnie... we need to have a reunion of sorts, we miss all of you guys!!

I hate it when a GPS takes you on a goose chase!! I'm so excited for you!! Make sure to send lots of pictures when you have your baby!! I was dilated to a 3 and 70% efaced for a couple weeks, but usually it makes it so your further along when you do go to have the baby.

That would be enough to send me over the edge & definitely treat myself to a fatty meal! I'm glad to hear everything is going well. It could be any day now! If you haven't already, practice your route to the hospital. It helped me in the stress department since we have so many parking garages in Houston.
